The internet has been recently being invaded by memes, gifs and many other things of one of the world's greatest writers, Edgar Alan Poe. The author of such texts as The Cask of Amontillado or The Raven has been a subject of popular culture for quite a long time, however who would think that this legendary figure will be praised by the internet users?
I am wondering what Poe's reaction to these creations of the modern internet would be. The central figure of American Romanticism is known for introducing detective fiction and changing the literary world forever. His style of writing was weird and rebellious, yet ingenious. I am sure, that the world of modern internet and its weird, rebellious creations would inspire him to go beyond his last literary successes, create something even greater and shock the world of literary criticism again.
PS. I am not the author of the memes above.
PPS I am giving the link to The Cask of Amontillado by Alan Parsons Project, a song based on the writer's book: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VAHcNbejRvY
