Just a little bit more up his sleeve

As we have already learnt the new President-elect of the United States hasn't really a heart of gold. Let's look at some another cases of his history so that we can learn more about one of the most important people in the world within the next few years.

Trump University

In 2005, Donald Trump announced establishing a for-profit education company, which he called "university". It ran a real estate training program to teach his business secrets. "Students", encouraged by satisfying free seminars, payed between $1,000 and $35,000 to learn how to get rich. As it turned out, Trump had little in common with the university and its curriculum and, as a result, participants started faulting Trump for the university being a scam.

New York State authorities pointed out that the use of the word "university" is a violation of the state law, however, the institution hadn't change its name until a second such notification five years later. It was made over into "Trump Entrepreneurial Institute". A civil suit, accusing Trump of making false claims and defrauding consumers, was filed by the New York State in 2013.

Finally gave up?

On November 18, 2016 Trump agreed to pay $25 million to settle a series of lawsuits concerning Trump University, including $1 million assessed by the State of New York for violating education laws. The settlement, however, specifies that Trump doesn't admit to do any wrongdoing. He also mentioned that during a February debate: "It’s something I could have settled many times. I could settle it right now for very little money, but I don’t want to do it out of principle. The people that took the course all signed — most — many — many signed report cards saying it was fantastic, it was wonderful, it was beautiful."
